Becoming a Mom can be a long road. Ours was longer than most but not nearly as long as others.
In my case, becoming a Mom a second time proved harder than the first – with 2 losses before a hair-raising pregnancy and the early arrival of wee Obi.
After a 25 day NICU stay, we joyously brought her home, only to be shaken three months later by the news that she has a rare genetic condition called Williams Syndrome.
With our family complete, the time has come to stop chasing Motherhood and live in the Mommy Moment. We’re just like any family, trying to live a normal life despite extraordinary circumstances.
I believe together we can change the world for our kids – particularly those living with intellectual disabilities.
Come along for the journey. It’s quite a ride.
